Our gite is a converted barn, over one hundred years old and a mix of original brickwork and timber. It is located at the end of the garden from our chambres d'hotes so we're nearby if you need us too!



There are four double bedrooms (3 bedrooms upstairs with adjacent shower rooms and one downstairs with a walk in shower room and patio doors onto the garden). The bedrooms have pine floors from Les Landes, exposed original wood beams and balcony doors which make the rooms light and airy.

Downstairs there is a fully equipped open plan kitchen and sitting room with additional toilet and laundry area. The kitchen is spacious and includes brand new dishwasher, enormous American fridge/freezer electric oven and hob as well as a large dining table.

There are folding concertina doors overlooking the garden. The sitting room includes double sofas, tv, dvd player and a great stereo system. There are also a selection of games and WIFI throughout.

Outside there are fruit trees surrounding your own private garden with eating area and bbq - perfect for long summer evenings watching the sun go down as the children sleep.

We are 200 meters from the nearest beaches on a warm freshwater lake and have two children's playgrounds nearby. The lake is only thigh high up to 50m so perfect for little people and ideal for picnicing, playing games and keeping cool! You can fish, windsurf, waterski, sail, swim. In fact, the list is endless! Flat cycle paths near the house take you into the heart of the pine forest. You could even cycle to the sea at Mimizan or Biscarrosse!

The nearest town with supermarkets is a 5 minute drive away and we can highly recommend Chez Flo for the best lunch in the area at 11 euros sitting outside opposite the church - a truly French experience. There are also more than five boulangeries for all your French patisserie passions!

We can offer a shopping list so you can arrive and immediately relax and concentrate on enjoying the atmosphere rather than racing off shopping.

Attractions in the area include the dune du pilat (the highest sand dune in Europe with breathtaking views of the ocean) the chic town of Arcachon, famous for its oysters, Biscarrosse and Mimizan for their laid back style,surfing and amazing beaches, Biarittz for drinking espresso with the film stars, Bordeaux for its UNESCO heritage and one of the best glasses of wine on the planet, Spain in just over an hour if you are a culture vulture.

The list goes on and we could fill a page with places to visit. The South West coast is one of the most beautiful and varied parts of France if not Europe.
